Product Manager – Edinburgh

IndigoVision sources products from third party suppliers on an OEM basis for resale through IndigoVision’s global sales network.  Products include IP CCTV Cameras and firmware, Video Storage and Encoders which are used in conjunction with IndigoVision’s renowned Control Center Video Management System.

The Product Management team reports to the Chief Operating Officer and are responsible for product strategy, product and feature scoping, supplier relationship management, new product sourcing and on-boarding as well as delivery of inbound and support of outbound Marketing communications.

Product Strategy

  • Identify develop and manage relationships with technology partners
  • Plan the strategic and tactical direction for the product portfolio based on:
    • Competitive analysis including product features, pricing, competitive advantage.
    • Commercial Justification for product proposals
    • Market input from sales & support teams, partners, end-users
    • Technological input from engineering
    • End of Life planning
  • Assess technical feasibility and business case of new product / feature ideas
  • Develop program priorities
  • Manage all active and future projects/activities through an agreed Product Roadmap
  • Plan product releases, maintenance and end-of life decisions.
  • Price, cost and margin control for the product portfolio

Product Roadmap

  •  Carry out detailed product requirements and feature planning, working closely with the sales & support teams, sales channel partners, end-users and engineering
  • Define an agreed product roadmap with buy-in from major stakeholders
  • Communicate and present roadmap internally (Regional Sales, Support Teams and Engineering)
  • Own and lead the progress of product development against the roadmap and work closely with internal & external development teams to ensure expected product delivery
  • Manage changes to the roadmap
  • Report progress/changes on all active and upcoming projects to internal stake holders and – where involved – external involved parties
  • Manage beta programs for the product portfolio
  • Present roadmap to internal teams

 Product Launch

  • Coordinate and drive the Launch Process
  • Ensure product pricing and price list descriptions are discussed and finalized with Finance team
  • Work closely with the Operations team to ensure smooth introduction into the supply chain, product lifecycle management including End of Life and stock management.
  • Work closely with engineering to cover update and maintenance programs
  • Provide training webinars to pre-sales, sales and support teams
  • Provide the technical material for marketing and sales collateral including product datasheets, flyers, press releases.

  • At least 4 years product management experience in an engineering environment.
  • At least 4 years experience in IP video solutions
  • Experience defining and delivering product roadmaps through entire lifecycle
  • Experienced in resolving program priorities
  • Experience in a SME technology company
  • Experienced in managing customer relationships
  • Experienced in working with a global supply chain and suppliers.
  • Experienced in management of inter-disciplinary teams (core teams)
