Internet Streaming Server

The IndigoVision Internet Streaming Server provides a webcasting solution to customers who wish to make a number of their IndigoVision cameras viewable on the Internet. An example of a typical application would be the webcasting of traffic monitoring cameras. The IndigoVision Streaming Server is compatible with all major media players including Apple QuickTime and RealNetworks RealPlayer.

The IndigoVision Streaming Server is a Microsoft Windows Service that can be installed on any suitable Windows PC. Client PCs request video streams through standard media players. The IndigoVision Streaming Server receives the request, maps the requested URL to an IndigoVision Transmitter and starts a media stream. The IndigoVision Streaming Server can transmit each “internal” camera to an unlimited number of Internet clients.

  • Firewalls: No client firewall configuration required. Video is streamed through standard ports.

  • Automatic buffer control. The Streaming Server dynamically controls buffering to compensate for packet loss or varying available Internet bandwidth.

  • Licensing: Licensing based on number of cameras being simultaneously viewed. The number of clients viewing those cameras is not restricted.

  • Transmitter firmware: Compatible with all 8000 firmware releases from 2.13 onwards and with all 9000 firmware releases from 3.4 onwards.

  • Server Hardware Specification:

    • Requires a 2.8GHz dual core processor to support 2000 simultaneous clients viewing one 140kbps stream. This is a total data throughput of about 250Mbps.

    • Requires 256MB RAM for every 50Mbps of data throughput being served.
