Banking challenges

Banking and finance operations require a very high level video surveillance solution, with the ability to protect highly secure areas through to recording individual transactions in retail banking operations. Identification of individuals and the ability to produce a video audit trail are important factors for a secure banking environment. Providing safe operation of ATM networks and tackling ATM fraud is one of the banks' biggest challenges.

Visual recognition

Identification of both customers and staff involved with financial transactions is vitally important. IndigoVision's High Definition cameras can provide excellent detail for facial recognition and transaction analysis. Evidential quality video can be recorded for future investigations.

Secure, resilient recording

Critical bank sites need the assurance that in the event of a Network Video Recorder (NVR) failure, recording of those cameras is uninterrupted. IndigoVision's NVRs can be configured as backups or to mirror recordings of other primary NVRs, delivering a resilient, secure and fault-tolerant recording solution.

Distributed architecture

IndigoVision's distributed architecture does not require a central server and has no single-point-of-failure. It also allows any component to be located anywhere on the IP network, including cameras, NVRs and video workstations. NVRs can be sited at the edge of the network to minimize bandwidth usage and create a fault tolerant solution. Any 'Control Center' video workstation can view recorded footage from any NVR, no matter where either is located. The IP Video network can span a single building, multiple sites or across countries. Off-site replication and recording is easily achieved as is surveillance of remote ATMs, which can be monitored by a single IP-camera with its video streamed to an NVR located at a larger bank branch or a data center. Small local banking branches can be effectively monitored from a central location.

Integration

IndigoVision's open architecture integrates with third party access control and perimeter protection. Events or alarms created from these systems, such as a vehicle passing an entry point, can trigger events in the IndigoVision system. These video events can for example include time stamping (bookmarking) the footage, panning a camera to a fixed position, displaying a camera view to an operator and starting recording of specific cameras.

Real time analytics at the edge

Motion Detection and Advanced Analytics can be used to detect irregular activity and potential threats. Automated detection of vagrants and left objects in bank public spaces can alert the banks' security team to dispatch assistance. By having automatic detection initiated by the IndigoVision system at the remote site there's no need to continually stream high-quality video to a central location for monitoring.
