IndigoVision is used 24/7 in mission critical IP security systems around the world.

Thousands of end users have chosen IndigoVision to serve their security, operational and safety needs.

Airports

Numerous airports worldwide use IndigoVision IP security solutions for their video & alarm management. Of these, Brussels airport in Europe is one of the largest, with a 750 camera IP Video system. This was installed in 2001 using IndigoVision’s 6000 range, and was recently upgraded to the 8000 range (MPEG-4). This airport was the first in the world to adopt an end-to-end IP Video and Alarm Management system.

Airports typically have a number of video ‘consumers’, not just security staff. Customs, police, check-in, baggage handling, screening, fire, and ground staff all have an interest in accessing video from around the site. With analog-switched systems this is very expensive, with infrastructure basically having to be replicated for each set of users. With IP, once the video data is on the network, any authenticated user can access it.

Casinos

30+ casinos in 8 countries across the world use an end-to-end IndigoVision solution that’s fully digital. ‘Fully digital’ means no analog matrix, no VCR, no DVR……instead, 100% of the video system is on an IP network. IP is the future for ultra-scalable, high-resilience video management systems, including High Definition.

In the US IndigoVision has 7000 channels of video deployed in 18 casinos across 7 states:
Casino del Sol, Tucson AZ, 1000 channels

Cities & Residential

In city centers, surveillance is required over wide areas and must deliver evidential standard video. In New London, Connecticut, local security is of prime importance to the Police Department, who use an IndigoVision solution to monitor a number of important military, nuclear power generation and industrial sites.

The City of Santa Monica in California uses a complete IndigoVision solution to ensure public safety and enable timely emergency response.

Budapest, the capital of Hungary, Europe, chose IndigoVision for its citywide video management system. The new system is helping the Budapest authorities increase public safety with remote monitoring of public places, tourist spots and parking areas.

Education

IndigoVision’s IP Video system is being used in many diverse educational establishments, including traditional security in schools, colleges and universities and specialist applications such as video training aids for medical schools.

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine chose IndigoVision for a campus-wide 300+ camera CCTV upgrade. The University’s medical campus spreads out over 45 acres in downtown Miami, Florida but it also has a number of remote sites, including one that is 100 miles north in Palm Beach County.

CCTV surveillance using IndigoVision’s IP Video technology is being made available to London’s schools via the London Grid for Learning’s (LGfL) existing IT network. The LGfL was established in June 2000 to provide capital-wide broadband internet services to London’s 33 Local Education Authorities.

Finance

Two of the world's 5 largest banks use IndigoVision. One of these uses an IndigoVision IP Video solution integrated with an access control system to monitor 35,000 people entering and exiting its headquarters facilities each day. The investment in this system delivered a payback period of under a year.

The demanding security requirements of financial institutions worldwide are being met by IndigoVision’s IP-CCTV solutions.

Government

In a world where terrorism is an everyday threat, Government agencies demand the very best CCTV surveillance solutions. IndigoVision works closely with a number of agencies and military sites to provide them with a flexible, high-quality surveillance solution that allows fast analysis of recorded footage in the event of an incident.

Edinburgh Castle, Scotland’s number one tourist attraction and part of Edinburgh's World Heritage site, is using IndigoVision’s IP Video for its CCTV surveillance. Historic Scotland operates and maintains the Castle and the associated exhibitions but part of the castle continues to be occupied by the army. This dual role means that the Castle has to be open to over 1 million visitors a year, but still maintain the levels of security expected on a site with a military presence.

Health

Many Hospital CCTV surveillance systems have been upgraded to IndigoVision IP Video solutions and have benefited from the fast installation and minimal disruption to their day to day operation – an important consideration for any healthcare environment.

St Joseph’s Health Care facilities in and around London, Canada have now been running IndigoVision’s IP-CCTV system since 2001, allowing all the sites to be centrally monitored from the Parkwood Hospital.

Oxford Brookes University School of Health & Social Care is using IndigoVision’s system for a medical training facility. Based in a simulated 24-bed ward facility, the innovative system uses specialist cameras to allow tutors and medical students to interact in a live patient care environment.

Hospitality

Security for staff and visitors to Hotels and Tourist venues often requires a flexible approach covering large areas, multiple sites or multi-storey buildings. IP Video is ideally suited to this environment as demonstrated by the CCTV monitoring in the 5-star, 26-floor, Mövenpick Tower & Suites luxury hotel in Doha, Qatar, which is using IndigoVision.

IndigoVision’s IP Video technology is at the heart of a new integrated security system for Glasgow’s museums and leisure centers. Housed in 17 different buildings throughout the city, ‘Glasgow Museums’ is the UK’s largest local authority museums service.

Industrial

The flexibility and scalability of IndigoVision's systems are well suited to industrial and commercial applications. The use of advanced compression technology and wireless IP-networks allows high-quality video to be transmitted across areas that would be difficult to cable. The Acuicola Marina off-shore Fish Farm in Spain is one such application, where IndigoVision's solution is providing both security against poachers and operational surveillance of offshore farms located 6 miles out to sea.

The Austrian hydroelectric power generator, Verbund, is using IndigoVision's video management system to monitor a number of its hydroelectric plants and transformer stations on the River Danube for both security and operational efficiency.

Major Events

The last two Olympic Games and the recent Soccer World Cup all used IndigoVision for their video and alarm management. Major events such as these demand large numbers of cameras to be accessible by large numbers of operators across wide geographic areas: perfect for IP. IndigoVision solutions continuously monitor system diagnostics to enable c.100% ‘up time’ and high resilience.

The Athens 2004 Olympics used over 2000 cameras, connected to some 63 command centers with 1250 operators, across an area of 250 square km (100 square miles). Key cameras were recorded via the network using off-site storage to preserve evidence in the case of a major disaster.

Mining

Mining operations are normally spread out over large and often inaccessible areas. Analog CCTV becomes increasingly expensive for these types of projects. IndigoVision’s IP video can be easily deployed over large distances by using both wireless and fiber IP-network links.

IndigoVision’s IP Video technology is providing site-wide CCTV security for an oil sands mining complex in Alberta, Canada. The system monitors the mine complex and associated buildings, which span an area of 75 square miles, and a remote office complex located over 30 miles from the mine.

Petrochemicals

The security issues facing petrochemical sites are many and complex. A plant-wide surveillance system is therefore an essential tool to monitor incidents, protect assets, manage health and safety, detect theft and combat terrorism. Petrochemical sites, which are highly volatile environments spread out over large areas, require many different operators to have access to the same CCTV images. This demands a flexible and truly distributed CCTV system that delivers the very highest quality video.

IndigoVision’s complete IP Video solution has been installed to enhance the security at Royal Vopak’s petrochemical storage terminal in West Thurrock, UK. With 12m cubic feet of storage capacity in 125 tanks, Vopak’s terminal is a very demanding environment with security and health & safety of paramount importance.

Police & Prisons

Where evidential standard video is required, with built-in encryption and watermarking to prevent tampering, IndigoVision is the solution of choice. Every piece of IndigoVision hardware contains a built-in firewall to prevent ‘hacking’ and ensure system integrity.

The new IndigoVision IP-CCTV system in Macau has revolutionized how Macau Police monitor their operation and has provided them with faster video analysis and improved incident response.

Barrie Police in Canada use IndigoVision solutions for recording interviews with potential offenders, and for monitoring holding cells/custody suites.

Some police forces and prison services use IP Video networks spread across multiple facilities/stations to improve out-of-hours response in emergency situations.

Ports

Being spread out over extended areas, ports are inevitably susceptible to potential ‘gaps’ in security. Analog CCTV becomes increasingly cost-prohibitive over wider and wider areas, whereas IP takes little account of distance and can be deployed transparently over wireless and fiber links. IP is also extremely cost effective for monitoring from multiple locations, and for rapid camera deployment and reconfiguration of the system as operational needs develop.

Dubbed "Highway H2O", the St Lawrence Seaway is the safe, reliable and environmentally friendly transportation route of choice to the heart of North America. They chose IndigoVision to provide mission critical monitoring of the operation of the eight locks and the bridges along the Welland Canal.

Rail

IndigoVision is now used in 7 major rail systems worldwide, for remote station surveillance, passenger safety and monitoring of rail network infrastructure. With IP networks able to span any distance, any number of stations and yards, rail is benefiting increasingly from the strengths of IP, especially with the optional benefits of integrated analytics such as congestion detection and virtual tripwire.

Both Skytrain and Canadaline in Vancouver chose IndigoVision solutions. Georgia-based locomotive manufacturer CLCX, Inc. has fitted an IP Video CCTV system to a freight locomotive to enhance operational safety, improve ease of use and provide a diagnostic tool in the event of problems.

Residential

Public safety is of paramount importance around residential areas such as housing estates and apartment complexes, with CCTV playing an important role. Many such projects around the world are benefiting from IndigoVision’s flexible and distributed IP-Video solution including social housing in the London Borough of Newham.

IndigoVision’s IP Video technology is also providing CCTV surveillance for Mont Kiara, an exclusive development of condominiums located in the suburbs of Malaysia’s capital city, Kuala Lumpur.

Retail

IndigoVision is being used by many retailers around world, from major retail brands to small shopping malls, to provide protection for their staff and customers. However, IndigoVision’s IP Video solution is also being used to provide benefits beyond store security. Many retailers are accessing in-store footage to help analyze merchandising, in-store promotions and footfall trends. This can be achieved locally and nationally, with central marketing teams accessing live and recorded video from any store at any location across their corporate networks.

IKEA France has invested in an IndigoVision solution for CCTV surveillance in its new 215,000 sq ft flagship store in Grenoble. Swedish-based IKEA is one of the largest and best-known home furnishing retail groups in the world, with stores in 36 countries.

Typical of the smaller shopping centers is Northgate Mall in Cincinnati, Ohio which is using IndigoVision’s IP Video CCTV surveillance system to monitor its public spaces. The Mall has more than 1.1 million square feet of retail space and over 100 specialty shops and four department stores.

IT/Telecommunication

Governments around the around the world are demanding tighter security for their telecoms and utility companies. IndigoVision has deployed advanced integrated IP security systems with a number of major companies such as E.ON in Germany and the Finish broadcaster, Digita.

This sector also requires remote monitoring over large distances, which is ideal for an IP video solution. Rogers AT&T, Canada’s national wireless network operator, is using IndigoVision’s technology to provide remote monitoring and surveillance of its cellular switching sites. Rogers AT&T operates three separate wireless networks across Canada, from Newfoundland to British Columbia, spread across five different time zones. The network and each of the switching sites is monitored from the Network Operating Center in Toronto.

Traffic

IndigoVision is used in numerous traffic management systems around the world, with “distance no object” IP Video being coupled with IndigoVision’s best-in-class video to deliver quality that often exceeds analog, with very low latency.

Adelaide Traffic System, in Australia, would not have been cost effective to expand using analog, and demonstrated yet again how seamlessly IP can be integrated into existing CCTV systems.

With IP, a single, integrated system can be deployed to serve both municipal and traffic monitoring requirements, where previously it was usual to deploy two separate analog systems.
